Apple placed an order for 100 million units of 8-gigabit and 16-gigabit NAND flash chips, according to a report, so this could point to the imminent release of 32GB iPhones. Apple currently has a 16GB iPhone on the market.

Sure, it’s possible that more 16GB iPhones could be on the way, but that seems unlikely, especially since the company has been working furiously to unload their current inventory.
Lazard Capital Markets analyst, Daniel Amir, suggests that a 32-gigabyte iPhone is in the works to debut in June. He also revealed that Apple was expected to begin production on a 32GB iPhone in April and May.

So is it gigabit chips or gigabyte chips?
8 gigabit = 1 GB
16 gigabit = 2 GB
32 GB = 256 gigabit NAND chips.
George: Thanks for such clarification. This is about gigabit chips (Gigabits are represented as Gb).
As you mentioned, the 16Gb chips allow for 2GB of storage space, so it could point us to the imminent release of 32GB iPhones.
I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility problems? A handful of my blog visitors have complained about my site not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Opera. Do you have any recommendations to help fix this problem?
