You know how sometimes companies who sell electronics and give them a good warranty or guarantee they do little things so that if whatever you come in needing fixed was caused by accidental damage done by you, instead of a hardware failure they can make you pay? Like for this example, cell phones that you have dropped in a puddle will show it with a little sticker that changes colors, usually next to the battery cover.
Well the iPhone and iPod Touch have those too, its just a lot harder to find unless you know where it is. Look down your headphone jack on either of those devices, and at the bottom of that well, you’ll see the sticker.
I am sure there are ways to circumvent it, but at the same time, its kind of crappy of them to put it in a place where a single drop of rain could cause it to change, but not cause any damage to the rest of the phone. Maybe if they hadn’t sealed the rest of the phone away from easy access they could have put it somewhere more practical. Regardless, you now know you can’t play off that canoe trip you took with your iPhone as a hardware malfunction, so don’t try it.

My iPod touch fell in the toilet and I grabbed it out and it had crap all over it so I wipe my iPod touch ass and my ass and cooked some fried rice and set my iPod touch on the steaming hot fried rice and before I can say haba Baba max it was working. Got rice mother phucka ?

my ipod touch has only just switched on again and started charging after 2 weeks of trying , i left it on the window sill during a bad storm for 4 hours in a rubber case !! case prob didn’t help as it acted like a puddle but much to my amazement it turned on today but the down side is i cracked the screen opening it to dry it out lol.
(no rice no blow dryers no heaters just leave it)
. Do not turn it on.
. Fill a tin cookie box with RICE.
. Wrap the IPOD in a paper towel.
. Insert the wrapped ipod in the RICE tin box.
. Cover the IPOD with RICE.
. Leave it under the sunshine window sill.
. If possible use tin box cover or miror to deflect even more light/heat toward top the RICE box.
. Change the paper towel every couple hours.
. This WORKS.

How to fix your Ipod 101
First step.. Clean off ur ipod make sure theres no water on it…
1: Charge Your ipod till its full…
2: Leave It in a rice bag.. With rice all over it..
3: Check Ipod time to time to see if it dies
4: your ipod must be dead first before taking it out
5: once dead charge ipod but not charge to much.. just enough to see if the touch screen works…
6: if not then charge alittle and leave in bag for more time…

hey well i dropped my ipod touch (first gen.) into the toilet and i took it out and it didnt work. Then i put it in a bowl of rice and it still didnt work. Then a while later i charged it and it works!! well the screen doesn’t. i can turn it on but i cannot slide the slider on the front just the buttons work!! HELP!!!!
The Same happened to me with Kiera ! I Dropped it in the toilet and quickly got it out and dried it , then i tried to turn it on [ i no i wasnt supposed to do tht :( ] and it came on and was working perfectly . then it died and i charged it thinking it was jus a minor problem and nothing was wrong . when i took it of and tried to use it the screen was jus white and blank and then it went off . i tried to slide it but only the white screen came up . when i plug it into my ipod home i can play the music but cant see what im playing ! Helpp !!!

Okay so I dropped my iPod in a deep puddle wig totally sucked >_< but it flickered on when I pulled it out quickly and my I'm with coco wallpaper came up normaly but then it turned off. After I ran home I put it on it's charger Wichita I guess I'm not supposed to do but I did dry it. I went to my moms house a few hours later after I took my iPod off it's charger before I had left and put it in a drawer and left for four days. I come back and check my iPod just in case but wat amazes me is I put it on it's charger and I thought it was dead because the screen was still black but I held it up to the light and there was the battery thing with the lightning symbol and I was freakin out and now it works just fine wats even weirder was there's this huge crack in the corner of it and now the only thing wrong with it is there's like gray stuff building up on the inside of the glass and some sound glitches can someone explain this to me It would be very helpful and I'm writing all this with my iPod thank you your awnsers are appreciated and I have a firt or second generation iPod thx!
So my story, dropped it in the toliet promptly grabbed it. It was still on and turned on but then flickered…I put it in rice overnight and let it die then I charged it all day now I can turn it on but no matter what my screen will not respond to any touch…just tell it to me straight, am I screwed?

I was tanning at the local quarry when a pack of hyper wild labs came running up to me wanting to play fetch. I live dogs so I was happy to play until one of them kicked my phone into about a foot and a half of water. I got it out within 30 seconds and the phone slowly flickered off. My immediate instinct was to turn it off and try to shake all the water out. I set it in the sun with the charging port facing down so the rest of thexwarer could drain out. Next at the urging of my friends I drove to walmart and bought a 1 dollar bag of white rice. I stuck my iPhone 4 in the rice and Prayed! I didn’t try to turn it on or play with it and I rotated the phone every few hours. I didn’t wrap it in paper towel because I thought that rice in the ports was a good thing because it would b closer to the interior of the phone. I later picked out the rice grains with a toothpick with no problem. Anyway 24 hours later of sitting in a bag of rice….my iPhone 4 is working! At first it would not turn on so I plugged it in to charge and waited and within 10 mins it flickered on and started charging! Rice works! Best of luck to you all!
Can anyone help I went into the ocean with my iPod and pressed t he lock button. It showed the lock screen and I took it out of the water. I took it home but was dumb and tried to charge it. All it does is buzz when it’s plugged in. Someone please help
I was taking a shower and most of the time I put my ipod 4g in to zip lock baggies but this time I didnt have.any so I put it in a plastic bag , my music was playing and it stoped turns out that water got in the bag. I was scared I wiped it with a towel n blow (like an idiot) inside the place where the chager goes n and placed it in front of a fan n a few hours later it didnt turn on so I plugged it in ….nothing so I give it more time in front of an ac IS THERE STILL HOPE!!
Leave it in rice for days turned off. It takes a long time to get the moisture off the chips and screen. Mine has been in rice for days and still I can see moisture and has sound problems (3GS) fell in toilet full if soap. I had to wash soap film off so it was soaked to the bone. Ive used it all day today though.
