While the iPhone 3G has sold quite a few units since its release in the U.S. and since the subsequent international release on August 22, the sales figures are not that positive for Eastern Europe. And even though the sales are in line with what the carriers expected, it's still a bit of a shock to the rest of us.
The Eastern European carriers for the Czech Republic are T-Mobile and Vodafone and their respective sales figures are about 5,000 units since the iPhone 3G launched. O2 is also a Czech Republic carrier, but sales info was not available at the moment.
Despite this small number, the iPhone 3G is still selling well in other parts of the world, especially in the U.S, the U.K. and in Germany.

I think coming so soon after the original iphone is the problem here. These are not cheap, especially when you can get very good phones for free and on lower cost per month tariffs. Most people who wanted an iphone would of got the original and won’t want to pay through the nose again to get an updated version.
