Apple vs Cisco: a lighter side of things

by Vincent Nguyen on February 27, 2007

Talks between Apple and Cisco over the use of “iPhone” went well into the night before Jobs announced it to the world on January 9, 2007.  Immediately following the announcement, Cisco slapped Apple with a lawsuit for trademark infringement, an unfair competition complaint. The two companies negotiated back and forth for weeks, and Cisco was kind enough to grant Apple a weeklong extension to work things out.  An agreement was met ... continued »

Goldman Sachs on the iPhone

by Chris Scott Barr on February 27, 2007

A handset branding survey was completed shortly before the announcement of the iPhone. Goldman Sachs seems to think that based off of this that Apple is really going to shake things up. The big points that were raised by this survey are as follows: First, half of the people that expressed interest in purchasing a phone from Apple don't own an iPod. That says a lot for how the average person views ... continued »

My iPhone daily rewind, remix and fast-forward 02:27:07

by Vincent Nguyen on February 27, 2007

In today’s news, Quantum publicly denied preparing suit again Apple over the iPhone’s screen technology. A video surfaced, demonstrating an iPhone-like cover flow for the iPod. The tipster didn’t reveal when we can expect the firmware. I’m relieved someone passed along the song played in the iPhone ad, hitting the tube last during the Oscars last night. There’s a rumor folks living in Europe may see a 3G version of ... continued »
