Yesterday's WWDC keynote revealed all sorts of sweet new applications for the iPhone. These applications will all be among the first that will be launching with the App Store, which according to Steve we will be seeing in September. The applications include an eBay client, a native blogging application, tons of games, and even an application by the Associated Press, which is of course for news. Check out the coverage ...

It has been a slower paced week in iPhone news than we have been used to lately, rumors have now been replaced with waiting, and anticipation. There are still some interesting things going on though, like the iControlPad, That will give your iPhone a holster type enclosure with buttons on it that resemble a PSP. It will allow for high quality gaming from the iPhone.

Installer has just received an update. The new version of Installer supports searching for applications from within the program. It sure took it's sweet time, but finally, it is here. Finally is indeed right, as Installer has been around for quite some time now. It is looking pretty good right now, but there are a few minor quirks that need to be sorted out.

The Associated Press have launched a localized news service for the iPhone. The system, which also works with other mobile devices, uses a ZIP code to bring stories from 107 big-name partnerships, including The Miami Herald and the San Francisco Chronicle. Supported by adverts, revenue will be shared, in part, between content providers.

McAfee's anti virus solution for the iPhone, called Stinger, would be the first of the of it's kind. It was just not enough to be able to use custom images as the background to your iPhone's home screen. Well, not for the iPhone developers over at Skrew at least. They have just released an alpha version of their new application, vWallpaper. Just as the 'v' before 'Wallpaper' would have you expect, it allows you to use videos as the background to your home screen.
