Screenshots have leaked from a new Sirius-XM application that would allow iPhone users to listen to streaming radio from the two channels.  Called StarPlayr, it not only plays the audio but provides album art, artist and track information and even lyrics.

According to the unnamed programmer, who is believed to be working as part of an alpha team assigned to the software, audio is provided in a format native to the iPhone.  This reduces battery drain, as unlike other music applications there is no real-time conversion required.  Sound quality is also reportedly good.

Currently testers have to install the app manually, dragging two provided files to iTunes and syncing their handset.  This is presumably just a stop-gap until the software is ready for release in the AppStore.  Unfortunately there's no indication of release date, and given it's still the ongoing project of an alpha team we may be waiting some time.
