It looks like the update we've all been talking about that will hopefully put the iPhone 3G's reception issues to rest, is finally here! At approximately 5:00 pm EST, you'll be able to download Version 2.0.2 (5C1) of the iPhone software from iTunes. I'm not seeing it yet, but I'm sure it'll be up soon.

This firmware update is rumored to have many a performance bug fixed, along with connection fixes. Those 2% of users experiencing iPhone connection issues, will be paying extra close attention to these connection fixes. Let's hope they do the trick!

And just so you know, AT&T stores will be receiving a big shipment of iPhone 3Gs tomorrow. However, you might have trouble walking in to get a phone (again) as this shipment is more likely than not meant to fill orders that have already been placed.

I tried updating my 2G phone and it came up with an Unknown Error (6) and now it won’t let me restore it.. Any Ideas?

Not that this matters - I don’t think, but was your 2G iPhone jailbroken? I remember seeing others having the same issue.

I’m in NYC and updated to 2.02 last night. Now my internet does not work more than 70% of the time even when I’m on 3G?! It just gets stuck during the download and/or I get an error message staying that there was either network error, or the server does not resospond.. I hope Apple fixes this soon because I’m getting really fustrated with this phone and thinking of going back to Sprint to get a treo 800. It may not be as pretty, but at least it woks as advertised.. Also, I’m very disappointed with Apple’s failure to admit that there is a huge problem with this phone. I was at the Apple store last week on 5th ave. to get some answers and there was one person after another complaining about the same thing.

Hi and greetings from Finland,

I have same kind of problems. Now iPhone is slower than before update.

Before http://testmyiphone.com 3G test was 0.522 Mbps and after it shows 0.322 Mbps.

So any improvement!

And you can use bluetooth stereo headset with phone calls but not in listening music what sucks a lot.
Because iPhone is mainly for listening music, so I hope that Apple is working with support for bluetooth stereo listening music function!

Very bad experiens with this phone. I have it atrust before purchasing iPhone from shop. But now some of my trust is flushed away.
