Students were asked to go to a classroom for pizza and were surprised to find that they were also given a free iPod nano video, too. One lucky recipient, Kari Afshari, said: "A lot of people were excited about it. It was nicer than the one I lost in the fire." The scheme came about because of the work of Steve Boyack, a resident of Poway (one of the areas affected by the fires). "Having four boys, I thought what would be nice for the kids," said Steve.
