iPhone launch speeds up AT&T rebranding efforts

Cingular AT&T

I really feel for customers that signed up with the old AT&T cellphone service. First, you’re with AT&T, then it’s Cingular, now it’s back to AT&T, that’s just crazy. The company’s rebranding efforts have been going on for some time now. But it looks like the release of the iPhone may kick things into high-gear.

An AT&T spokesperson announced that they will be increasing their efforts to get as much rebranding done as possible. They will begin with changing out all signage located inside retail stores, however, external signs will remain the same for now.

According to the AT&T spokesperson Michael Coe the reason that they’re upping their efforts is because “the iPhone is one of the most anticipated handsets ever in the wireless industry, and we want to make sure that every drop of equity from the iPhone accrues to the AT&T brand.”

i wanted the iphone really bad, but if it is gonna have the at&t logo, i will not buy it.
cingular logo is so much more fun. i hated at&t back in the day.

  2. How funny, you cannot, not buy a new device simply because you don’t like the company’s logo. Looks like you’ll be waiting another 5(!) years before another carrier starts selling the iPhone.
