Yesterday it was a NES emulator; today the retro-gaming continues with a fantastic rendition of classic Duck Hunt coded in iPhone-friendly javascript by Deron Dantzler. To be honest, for casual users not really wanting to get elbow-deep in their iPhone file systems this is an easier way to enjoy mobile gaming - all you need do is visit http://orangeburgyoungprofessionals.com/duckhunt and you can get playing.

Sadly you're still unable to shoot that blasted dog, but otherwise you'll be jabbing aggressively at your iPhone screen and scaring people on the Tube with you as you scream "take that, you feathered swine!"
Deron has also released his javascript sourcecode if you want to take a look and maybe make some tweaks that'll let me target the dog; surprisingly, this is his first attempt at a mobile game:
I’ve never programmed a game before, nor do I claim to be a professional. I’m not really sure what motivated me to do this, it was kind of just an idea hatched out of boredom that turned into a pretty fun little project. I’m sure that there are plenty of bugs to be found, but for those of you who do not want to hack your iPhone in order to play an old classic, this might be a quick fix (even if it isn’t as cool as Mario).
Definitely one for your bookmarks.

Got it running on my iPhone. The on-screen controller leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s a cool idea. Been a while since I played any ROMs :)
