As you might remember, the extremely useful Box Office app was pulled from the App Store last week. But now it’s back with a new name, and we still don’t know the exact reason why it was yanked in the first place.

Now called “Now Playing,” the app is up and running at the App Store, though it seems you may have a bit of trouble finding it. Initial searches for “Now Playing” came up empty-handed, and the app is still listed under “Box Office.” Must be a little glitch.

The reason for yanking the app may have just been the “Donate” button. Apparently, that’s against the SDK. Or maybe Rotten Tomatoes was upset because the app used their content? Or maybe it was due to the “Box Office” name being trademarked? We may never know. All I know, is I’m glad it’s back.
