Phonofone II is shiny, expensive iPod dock

I feel very much like a bird that's attracted to shiny things right now, but I can't help myself. Isn't this Phonofone II beautiful? It's in the shape of a Victrola and while you may have seen other iPod docks that look like this one in the past, you've never seen one that functions like it, that's for sure.

The Phonofone II - Limited Edition Black is designed by Tristan Zimmerman and while it may look retro, it certainly doesn't perform like it. No external power source is required. In fact, it outputs sound through just the power of your iPod or iPod touch. Unfortunately, the iPod nano and Shuffle won't work here, but it's still pretty cool.

The best types of music to groove to on this old-school treasure are Classical, Blues and Folk. And with classic tastes come hefty price tags. You can get your very own Phonofone II for $600. I gulped aloud when I saw the price, but that doesn't make this sound amplifier any less pretty.
