Not only has the iPhone 2.0 software been released a day early for first-gen handset owners, bringing functionality like push email, but it's already been unlocked. The iPhone Dev Team have in fact been working on early builds of Firmware 2.0 since it went into beta testing, and reached an unlock and jailbreak solution before Apple even released the official version.
The team is now promising a publicly-available release of their infamous Pwnage tool, which will allow anybody to unlock and jailbreak their handset for use with unsigned apps and any SIM card. There's no release schedule as of yet, though.
Of course, the necessity for such a hack is somewhat reduced as Apple is releasing the handset in a greater number of countries and partnering it with the App Store, which will make third-party software official. Somewhat worrying, though, is the fact that some users are experiencing problems with their iPhones and the new firmware, including interface lag, crashing apps and hard resets. There are rumors that the build was only intended for the iPhone 3G and that Apple has planned a different release for the original handset.

J’ai acheté mon premier iPhone en Septembre 2007.
J’ai publié ZiPhone en Février 2008.
Je sais que vous êtes acharné de l’iPhone,
mais croyez moi, je ne le suis pas.
Je crois que cela ne vaut même pas la peine d’acheter
un iPhone 3G pour les possesseurs de l’iPhone V1.
GPS? J’ai un TomTom
3G ? J’ai plus rapide sur mon portable.
Applications ? J’ai mon iPhone (Installer)

je sais pas si vous connaissez la différence mais
ZiPhone est un vrai HACK.
Des mises à jour ou des firmwares customisés
sont tout a fait autre chose.
Une belle preuve du concept, un beau boulot,
mais ce n’est pas du HACK…
Mais si c’est publié, et que cela vous rend heureux, utilisez le !

i hav 2G iphone. its backlight was gone . i updated to 2.0 firmware the backlight came back.
i m using the BSNL Card. i got my iphone locked with itunes 7.7 by updating 2.0 firmware . I tried using Ziphone 3.0 but it failed to unlock. i tried with Pwnage tools 2.0 windows version but it also failed to unlock my iphone. So is there any way that i can unlock my iphone please tell !!
