Steve Jobs confirmed for WWDC 2008: still no comment on 3G iPhone

Apple have released its plans for WWDC 2008, due to kick off on Monday June 9th. The event will open with a keynote from Steve Jobs, expected to be resplendant in a new, exciting outfit, before focussing on OS X Leopard and OS X for iPhone. There's no mention, of course, of a new 3G iPhone, although speculation continues. continued »

Apple sells 1.7 million iPhones in Q2

What a number! In the second fiscal quarter of this year, Apple was able to push a little over 1.7 million iPhones out the door. This is the overall theme of the Apple earnings report, with Apple announcing a whopping $1.05 billion in profit. Since there is not last year comparison of iPhone sales, their is no growth estimate, but they are no doubt selling plenty of them. continued »

iPhone Pro – “or whatever” according to Kevin Rose

I can’t say that Kevin Rose of Digg.com has ever been dead on, or even remotely close to being correct when it comes to rumors or leaks regarding the iPhone. In his weekly Digg podcast, Kevin referred to the new iPhone as the “iPhone Pro, or whatever” featuring 3G support and a second camera behind the glass faceplate for video conferencing. Update: Talk about turnaround!  Jobs is now offering all iPhone early-adopters a $100 Apple Store credit  Steve Jobs himself has been officially quoted as saying, “If they bought it this morning, they should go back to where they bought it and talk to them. Steve Jobs hailed as “creative genius”

Hit the InterFlora speed-dial, kids, because Uncle Steve has just been named a Genius.  Yes, the man behind such miracles as the iPhone, the iMac and the iAlwaysWearTheSameOutfit will be inducted into the California Hall of Fame with the byline "innovator, entrepreneur and creative genius." He'll join such luminaries as Elizabeth Taylor and Tiger Woods, being honoured in a ceremony this December led by Arnold Schwarzenegger and his missus. [via Valleywag] continued »

Rumor - Jobs calls a “Town Meeting” for Apple employees tomorrow at 11AM

According to sources, Apple founder Steve Jobs will be making a company-wide speech tomorrow at 11AM to share his thoughts on the iPhone launch. The “Town Hall Meeting” will be for employees only, so unfortunately not even our man Vincent can sneak his way into this one. Did anyone notice the following disclosure at the end of the recent iPhone press release? Apple, the Apple logo, Mac, Mac OS, Macintosh and iPhone are trademarks of Apple. Other company and product names may be trademarks of their respective owners.
