DigiTimes reports according to sources in Taiwan, Apple is upping the shipment estimates for Q1 2011 for the iPhone. The rumor includes 5-6 million CDMA iPhones to ship that quarter.

I mentioned yesterday that there were rumors flying that AT&T could be ready to allow VoIP over its 3G network with apps like Google Voice and Skype. Previously VoIP apps on the iPhone were only working over Wi-Fi connections. AT&T officially informed Apple and the FCC yesterday that it would allow 3G VoIP service.

After last week's rumors, Skype's iPhone client has been confirmed. The VoIP software, which will be released on Tuesday March 31st, will be a free download and allow users to make free Skype-to-Skype calls over WiFi networks. Alternatively, calls to landlines will cost 2.1 cents per minute.

This is a great news! Skype is developing its own native iPhone app, following the release of similar services (Truphone, fring and Nimbuzz, and IM+ for Skype) which also have brought Skype to the iPhone.
