Or so we think. I've been checking out this video on Gizmodo of the apparent v1.1.3 iPhone firmware update that Apple should be releasing soon. The video shows a guy moving around the iPhone's icons changing the order. Apparently the updated firmware version breaks all unlocks, and jailbreak apps, and cannot be cracked this time around because iTunes installs Apple's private key.

Over at the Hackint0sh forums, a couple of people decided to unlock their iPhone, little did they know, opening their phone after completing the software, was not such a great idea. At least they now have a door stop, brick, frisbee, and tons of other useful tasks.

AnySim has always claimed to be open source from the start, but the devs had never released an official source code. After endless waiting, not only can the devs work on it, but hackers and programmers from all around the world can also work on it, greatly improving it's code and compatibility with the iPhone.

It seems as if all the iPhone dev teams are adding everything Apple forgot, maybe that was their plan, but this time Suavphisticated from ModMyiFone has created a MMS application for the iPhone. The application is currently in heavy development with lots of bugs. This is only the first beta version released and the dev team is still in progress on it. Update: 15% of iPhones were sold on non-iPhone specific service plans, while 5% were sold unlocked
Orange, who are Apple's carrier partner in France, have revealed that of the 30,000 iPhones the sold in the first five days it was on sale there, 1,500 were unlocked. While 80% of customers took out one of the carrier's special iPhone plans, 15% chose a more generic option and paid €549 for the privilege.
