It's almost amusing how things work out sometimes. People have been trying to get Apple to work with developers to put games on their systems, and to date there is still a huge shortage of available games. EA was able to develop a new game for the iPhone within 2 weeks, and they’d never seen the SDK prior to that. They took and old classic “Spore” and put it on the iPhone.

If there's anything to get a geek's mouth watering, it's LEGO, and developer play/nyc are looking to bring some of that fun to the iPhone. Okay, so there's nothing quite like having the real bricks in your hands, but with LEGO Touch for iPhone you'd be able to build models, animate them and even send them to friends so that they can see you've been doing no work. ...

The iPhone Dev Team have once again proved their worth by Jailbreaking Apple's Firmware 2.0 for the iPhone - yes, the firmware that won't be officially launched until June. The screenshot they provided - with a video apparently coming soon - shows apps running on the new firmware, which would normally require an as-yet-unawarded developer's certificate.

While Apple may have been intending to demonstrate their new Enterprise features last week, they also - likely accidentally - unveiled another upcoming addition to the iPhone: contacts search. Spotted by Daniel Ahdout, the functionality is hinted at by the appearance of a small magnifying glass icon at the top of the list; you can see it yourself at 9 minutes 30 into the official Apple SDK Roadmap video.
