I'm beginning to wonder if Apple will have any time to develop actual products if their lust for patenting continues at its current rate.  It hardly seems like five minutes since the last one, yet already we're looking at the snappily-titled "MultiTouch Gesture Dictionary" - it describes a grouping of multi-fingered chords and movements that have either predefined or user-assigned functionality attached.   continued »

Apple touchscreen keyboard patent shows future of iPhone data entry

How intelligent do we want our keyboards to get?  There isn't much danger from an old Imperial typewriter - short of catching your finger between two keys and ending up with a blood-blister - but Apple's latest patent (note: 4MB pdf link) for an intelligent touchscreen keyboard might be a precursor to the human race being subjugated by QWERTY overlords.   continued »

iPhone karaoke might be your next public transport horror
