Apple has announced that the App Store has now hit the 300,000 active apps milestone. The average number of new apps released each month since April is 12,218 on the iPhone and 5,452 on the iPad.

PayPal is reportedly rushing a security patch to iPhone users of the PayPal application. The patch fixes an issue that could allow a hacker to intercept the user’s password.

Google Instant is now in beta for most iPhone users. The beta means you don’t have to hit the search key, Google will just start looking for what you type.
