Are you looking to buy the iPhone in Europe? According to Steve Jobs, the iPhone won’t be shipping in Europe until Q4 2007 (will be available stateside in June). However, Amazon.de has already posted pricing info for the 4GB priced at EUR 899,00 and the 8GB configuration will cost EUR 999,00.

Below is a clip from Macworld Expo of Steve Jobs justifying the price of the iPhone. There's also a snippet about Cingular as the carrier partner. Noticed how Steve sneaks the 2-year contract into the slide without breathing word of it?

Yes, that’s $1,160 USD (899 EUR) and $1,289 USD (999 EUR) for us lazy ‘mericans.

Crap me, that’s waaaay above my budget! 999,00EUR for a phone? It better cleans up my room and walks the dog out…

Tim, the iPhone is actually three devices in one; a full screen video iPod, Internet communicator and yes - a phone. Unfortunately, it won’t clean your room or walk your dog for you.

Check out the post below to see what else the iPhone can do - I chuckled for a long while after watching it…

Ok, I get your point with everything it can do :)

But think about it: Apple isn’t going to have exclusive deals with networks in Europe like it has with Cingular… So probable Google Maps and Visual VoiceMail are going to be 2 killer functions, we’re not be able to use!

This really is a bummer…

Well, we’ll just have to wait until the end of the year (that’s way to long) and see what kind of mobile goodness the iPhone will hold for us…

I can get a bit rough in my comments sometimes, but don’t let it bother you; I read your blog like 2 times a day (seriously).

Cheers!
