Orange and Apple worked out differences

It looks like France Telecom’s Orange will be getting the iPhone after all, it will go for 399 Euro with a contract. Apple will see 30% of those contracts too.

Wanna know what the really big news is? They will also be selling the iPhone sans contract for 999 Euro.

This could mean a legally purchased, unlocked, iPhone could be available real soon. The real question is, would you be willing to pay the equivalent of nearly $1500 for an Apple unlocked iPhone? Just think, you’d never have to worry about future firmware updates bricking your phone, or re-locking it to your carrier, you’d never have to re-unlock it every time Apple released and update, the entire device, and where and with whom you chose to use it with would be entirely yours, but for a considerable premium, so is it worth it? I’d say it depends on where you live and/or how much you travel.
