So you remember that article about Greenpeace hatin’ on the iPhone? And then the other one about the BSEF hatin’ on Greenpeance? Well now Greenpeace is back, this time with less hate, and more explanations.
Sadly these explanations are far from being acceptable for pulling a stupid publicity stunt like bashing the 4th top selling phone in the US. Tom Dowdall, the web editor for Greenpeace even, in a round about way, says that they picked on the iPhone for the publicity.
Furthermore from what I read, they understood of the fact that the iPhone passes the most stringent environmental standards, those of the EU, but that Apple could do better, by whose standards? I mean if you are going to say they can do better, give them some sort of bar to try and meet, don’t all out bash the iPhone and then all you can do is say, well you meet all of the strictest standards to date, but you could to better, that’s BS, maybe someone should arrest Tom for swerving a little bit in his car, sure, he was following all the laws, but he could have been doing better.
This is all so stupid, and Greenpeace is dumb for pulling this crap. I mean, they said in their rebuttal that they were soon going to publish their next report of electronics devices tested (ITS DATED 2006!!) so if 2006 is the most recent they can get with a list of devices tested, then what the hell were they doing testing and iPhone except for a publicity stunt, I mean, 2006 wasn’t a hugely exciting year, but there is a lot that has been released between then and the iPhone release.

Wow! Can you say Apple Fanboy? Do you have any idea how social
change actually happens? Or are you so offended that anyone would
criticize your Jesus-Phone that you can’t see consequenes.
Guess what, the chemicals in the iPhone cause cancer. Small children
in areas near dumps will die from that. It makes no difference if it
passes EU regulations, it still causes cancer. People still die. How are
you going to change that? Greenpeace is putting pressure on the
industry to do better. Of course you put pressure on the big, obvious
target.
And guess what, it is working. The polluting industries were threatened
enough to set up the sham “critique” saying how their pollution should
not count. Which is about the same as the tobacco “scientists” saying
that smoking does not cause cancer. And they are usually the same
industries who fund the politicians who write the practically useless
regulations on “pollution levels”.
So, how are you going to save the people who are getting cancer from
the iPhone and other electronics? What is your plan?

Please do so, so you realise Greenpeace doesn’t hold the absolute truth either… :)
So Peter, what is your plan for saving people from the toxics in the
iPhone and other electronics?
