The rumors of the Google Phone are spreading like wildfire. The latest one comes with a new rendering of what the phone may look like. Adding fuel to the fire is the rumor that the phone will be made by Samsung.

I won't dispute that the source appears less than credible, but I'll admit that someone took a little time rendering the images, so I'll at least give it a look. At first glance it seems alright. But then the questions start coming up. What's with the big button? And what are the other four oddly-positioned buttons going to do? Obviously two of them are labeled for “call” and “end.”

Personally, I think the keyboard looks difficult to use. You'd have to reach your thumb all the way over the giant round button just to reach the keyboard. It also looks as though the keys are going to be tiny.

So is this the real thing? Doubtful. But if it is, I really hope that they re-think the position of the keyboard. I'm sure more details will arise in the following weeks.
