Looking quite a lot better than the thrown-together mockup David Sieger used to illustrate his theory of an upcoming iPod Touch-based MacBook tablet, possibly reviving the Newton name, this fan-made creation manages to capture the current state of Apple design. They’ve even developed the idea of an iMac style docking station into which an Apple sub-device would slot so as to allow access to full-sized peripherals.
“[T]he Keyboard Wireless Dock connects to the dock using Wireless USB. It also has a bigger hard drive, some sort of DVD player/burner, inputs for your USB and Firewire devices. The whole keyboard part itself is used as a large multitouch track pad. Since the keys need to be depressed when hit, you can do lighter touches as you move across the whole thing” Design’s creator

Could such a device be on the cards for Macworld on the 15th? Given Apple’s notoriously tight-lipped attitude to new products, it’ll have to be a case of waiting and seeing.

I want one, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was holding out on an iPhone or iPod Touch. Trying to sell my old G4 Dual and/or eMac to raise funds. MacBook maybe. I have a Toshiba 400 tablet whose fan stopped that I may sell for parts. And a Tapwave Zodiac 2, an extra Sony video camera and assorted other gadgets. Watch for the yard sale.
For a Tablet Mac I would have a built in infared project keyboard or use the iSight and be able to display the keyboard on the screen and show where your finger with an outline.
This is by far the greatest publish I’ve identified on this matter, many thanks for making my day.
Very nice info! Did not think this post would be so entertaining.
