I got a number emails asking if iPhone supports Microsoft Exchange. The short answer is yes it does. However, from what we’ve determined, this is not “true push-email” because the protocol still connects to exchange using IMAP protocols. Nonetheless, you can still use Exchange should you have all the settings.
I’ve taken screen shots and outlining step by step how to setup Microsoft Exchange on the iPhone.
I called ATT and they said that you need to use thier SMTP relay which is:
CWMX.com,
so, just enter that as your outgoing SMTP address and no need for username and password. we’ve tried it with all the users who have Exchange setup and they are all now able to sent email out from their iPhone.
Step 1: Go to Settings and select Mail
Step 2: Add new account and select “Other”
Step 3: Click on Exchange, third tab over (make sure you or your admin flipped on IMAP support) and enter all the correct settings and you’re good to go!

have anyone ever tried using https (webmail) connection for incoming and outgoing server? example:
incoming server : https://webmail.domain.com/exchange
outgoing server : https://webmail.domain.com/exchange

Is this just for adding your own email domain, or does it do full synchronization with exchange over 3g / wifi of calendar and contacts also?
what password do i use for microsoft exchange, i dont have one niether a username. where do i get these 2 from?

Something I don’t understand, if my iphone is on AT&T and my office uses T-Mobile for their blackberry’s in order to use MS Exchange / Outlook — how is the iphone able to use “Exchange”? is that Exchange service independent of whatever phone service my office happens to use?

For cox email just make sure on outgoing server enter your user name and password for that email account, mine works just fine now, i just figure it out, I could get emails but never send them, now both accounts work fine
