Hackers love a big challenge, and there’s nothing bigger (right now) than cracking the iPhone. Full access to the file system is now possible using iPhoneInterface. This means that we can expect custom ringtones and plethora of 3rd party apps (maybe?).

The image above depicts where the hackers were able to move the Safari application from dashboard to the iPhone space. This is pretty neat, but the fun really begins when someone figures out how to develop applications without an SDK or even possibly adapt normal Cocoa apps to the iPhone.
Don’t go out looking this early version of the tool just yet, because it’s not publicly available. According the iPhone wizards at IRC channel #iPhone, it will be out soon. A quick word of advice, make sure you know what you’re doing, because this kind of stuff takes some talent. So don’t go around bugging these folks for this or that.
