gOffice may be the first word-processor for the iPhone, but as established companies discover how well Office-style software can be run through the Safari browser it’s likely to find itself in a crowded market. Online productivity provider NetSuite is the latest to leverage its business-focused wares on the consumer-oriented device, with their SuitePhone package consisting of enterprise resource management, customer relationship management and e-commerce functionality.

Intended for small- to medium-sized businesses, the software works in conjunction – rather than replacing – the full version used on normal laptop and desktop computers. Instead, NetSuite see the iPhone interface as a convenient, mobile monitoring solution: quicker to access and less unwieldy on the road, with instant feedback on inventory and orders.
