AT&T announce Corporate iPhone plans

As we reported last week, Apple is now offering the iPhone to corporate users.  The chief difference appears to be a separation of the voice and data – or, more accurately SMS messaging – elements of the standard consumer plans: the former can be selected from AT&T’s usual business range, while the latter are broken down by the number of SMS messages subscribers can send, with 200 messages for $45, 1,500 at $55 and unlimited priced at $65 per month.  Unlimited internet browsing and Visual Voicemail access is included in those messaging bundles.

 iPhone Enterprise plans

For business travellers, AT&T offer two Data Global Add-On plans, priced at $25 for 20MB or $60 for 50MB; up to 29 countries are covered in the add-on, including Canada, China, Germany and the UK.

As an incentive to lure users away from their BlackBerries, AT&T is offering a $25 monthly discount, running through to December 31st, to anybody who signs up to an enterprise plan before March 31st.

Good question! I think it all comes down to whether your IT department (or whoever manages cellphone contracts in your company) will sign up to consumer price-plans, or whether they insist on corporate ones. Some insist on the latter, in which case employees have had to wait until AT&T specifically market to the enterprise market.
