AppButler: An App for Apps

Any iPhone user who has lots of apps on their device will tell you that it can be hard to find the specific app you want to use. The problem is that there isn’t a convenient way to organize apps on the iPhone natively.

A new app called AppButler has been unveiled that promises a simple and innovative way to organize apps and bring some order to users with lots of apps. The company maintains that it is more useful than the new organization feature of iTunes 9.

The app lets you mark the different windows with numbers to find pages easier. The app also has a register that will let users register 20 different app categories along with sub cats for games. The page numbers are icons and can be clicked to go to the specific page. The app is free for a limited time and is available for download now.

It doesn’t seem to actually allow you to click an icon to go to a page. It just creates a web link back to their site.

Ya, I think you just put these ‘icons’ on the left site of your screens as place-holders. Then you place the ‘proper’ apps to the right of them.

You do that for each screen.

Basically, it’s pointless. This isn’t an actual application; it just a way of getting custom icons on your pages.

    Yes, it is crap.

When is Apple going to allow you to categorise you apps in the iphone. I spend ages looking for my apps somethings. Also I think the future is apps like Appboxpro. This is an app full of apps and its excellent. Much easier than having 18 apps that do the same thing.

That’s why they added spotlight search in 3.0.

This is a brilliant idea! It’s a great way to help organize your apps visually. I could use Categories and actual folders but Categories is really rather slow loading. AppButler would allow me to visual organize my apps.

FYI, once you have added these links to your home page, you don’t actually click on them (as they will take you back to the AppButler Web site). You instead use iTunes new feature to start organizing your apps and placing these “fake” icons to make finding different categories of apps much easier to find.

BTW, I’m in no way affiliated with the developer. I just really like this concept!
