Who needs to create an iPhone-killer when it is easier to copy nearly every aspects of the real thing? By any standards, the P168 iPhone clone looks to be a decent phone, featuring support for dual SIM cards, 3.5-inch touch-screen with QVGA resolution, 3D surround sound, a 1.3 megapixel camera, Mac OSX startup sound and theme, and a beefy 1800 mAh battery.

Apple iPhone vs. CECT P168

The CECT P168 sure looks like the iPhone, but doesn’t posses the heart and soul of the real iPhone. Clearly, the clone won’t feature a widescreen iPod, Visual Voicemail, advance sensors such as the accelerometer, a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor.

The iPhone will be available late June 2007, Europe in late 2007, and Asia in 2008, in a 4GB model for $499 (US) and an 8GB model for $599 (US), and will work with either a PC or Mac. iPhone will be sold in the US through Apple’s retail and online stores, and through AT&T’s retail and online stores. Several iPhone accessories will also be available in June, including Apple’s new remarkably compact Bluetooth headset.

I got one of the China Apple iPhones, but can’t read the manual as it is in Chinese. Is there an manual that I can read? I sure would like to know how to turn it on, and etc.

My phone arrived a few days ago, and yes it’s no IPhone, but it works great for the price. I just wanted an unlocked phone with a big screen, able to play mp3, mp4, and minor pda tools.

If you have the extra $500.00 to $600.00 bucks layng around then yes by an Iphone. Don’t for get about the 2 year contract and min $60.00 a month for service.

To turn on and off the device hold the red hangup button for about 5 to 10 seconds.

The advantage of Dual SIMs is that you can use 2 services. Example…I travel out of country a lot and use a pre-paid SIM in whatever country I’m in…but can still receive calls on my second SIM. It’s convenient.

Vincent Nguyen does’nt know SH*T. This phone is WAY better than an unlocked iPhone. Hey Nguyen, why do you hate the phone? You don’t even own one!

Robert Einhorn, you seem to take this article personally. You own stock in this company or something? Next time, please refrain from profanity. This is a family oriented website/community. Using profanity doesn’t strengthen your point any more than making you look uneducated.

IMPORTANT…READ!!! DO NOT FORMAT YOUR SD CARD WHILE IT’S IN YOUR PHONE

Take the card OUT OF YOUR PHONE then format it with the adapter IN YOUR COMPUTER. If you format it in your camera, you will lose half the capacity. 2 gigs will be 985.XX gigs and so on.

19 Foxtamer 09.28.07 at 12:07 pm

what kind of sd cards does it take. does it take pro duo? because i have a 4 gig pro duo and i heard it can only take 2gigs worth of memory. i bought it but its going take like a week or two to get here and it looks like a really cool phone to me!

Will the phone be to read information that is currently on the SIM card?
