Another day, another media streaming option that we’re told will vanquish all our mobile entertainment woes. Today’s offering is WeBot – not, as it might sound, an incontinent Transformer, but in fact a straightforward way to funnel the photos and music from your home computer to either another machine or (as we’re most interested in) your iPhone.

Currently in Beta, right now you’re limited to JPEG images and MP3 audio, and there’s a piece of software that needs to be installed on every computer you want to share media from. Obviously that means that you’ll have to leave it turned on while you’re out, which might not be too much of a concern but won’t you please, please think of the environment.
The soft-skinned beauties over at Just Another Mobile Monday tried WeBot out and seemingly came away reasonably impressed. Obviously as is always the case, the speed of the connection you use is key; WiFi should give you no problems, but EDGE proved to be less than pleasant. At least the iPhone-friendly interface is well laid out and easy to use, with nice big buttons and a clean design.

Should you want to test it out yourself, you’ll need a Beta access code: 2testIt. Let us know how it goes via the comments!

Soft-skinned beauties? Thanks for the link. We also did a post recently on Glide,. which is another option for streaming media, sharing files generally, working with Word docs and more with an iPHone. That’s at:
