Verizon logoWe have already seen how Sprint plans to battle customers wanting to switch to AT&T to get their hands on an iPhone, but what about other companies like Verizon? Don't worry, they won't let you go without a fight either.

They are choosing to point out the potential negatives of the iPhone, rather than the positive things their network has to offer. They point out that the lack of a removable battery will make you want to “Stay near a plug.”

Other things that they will telling you about is the high price, lack of picture and video messages and lack of over-the-air downloads. Of course, Verizon's network doesn't have those shortcomings.

They will also be quick to turn your words against you as well. Tell them it has WiFi, I dare you. They will simply inform you that "Wi-Fi is not a mobile technology. You have to be in a fixed location to use it -- and that's if you know where to find it. And some Wi-Fi hotspots make you pay to use them. There're also those pesky concerns about security of Wi-Fi." Man, that doesn't sound fun anymore.

The cool touchscreen, that's a good feature right? Nope, it's just going to be a burden for anyone that does any amount of typing on their mobile phone. "And how are you going to type without looking with a keyboard you can't even feel?"

I'm sure that with the right person on the other end of the phone, they could ruin your taste for the iPhone. However, just remember why you want it in the first place. WiFi is cool, even if it isn't everywhere. The interface is revolutionary, and the touchscreen is going to be awesome. Don't forget that it's a widescreen iPod too. You won't be getting one of those from Verizon anytime soon.
