iPhone is sealed outside, unless you wanna bust it open, I don’t think there’s a way to see the IMEI number. And it doesn’t have an actual keyboard, so I’m wondering if you can type *#06# to see the IMEI number without an AT&T/Cingular SIM Card. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. My email: iwlcf@hotmail.com

  2. MacNewb says:

The IMEI is right on the back of the box. Though how safe is it to share that number is my question…

  3. erdojaro says:

    Have anyone succeded yet?
I live in Europe and would be interested in buying and unlocking an iPhone, if that’s not to naiv to wish.

  4. David Mussington says:

This sounds like a way of cloning your phone (to steal it) to me — stay away until proven1

  5. Laik says:

These guys are just gathering your e-mails for their spambase. Don’t be stupid and give away your id.

If there is a way to unlock an iPhone, you’ll know it the same day from myitablet.com :)

  6. Agostinho says:

    Hopefully it’s true.

That way i can get my iPhone before it hits the UK.

  7. Vincent Nguyen says:

I’ve sent my IMEI out to get other phones unlocked in the past – there’s nothing they can do with the IMEI number that can harm your phone. Also read somewhere that they’re based out of NY and seems to be a reputable company. They specialize in unlocking phones. That’s as far as I know for now, so lets keep our fingers crossed.

If nothing else, if they manage to successfully unlock the phone to allow usage of features like internet and iPod, it maybe even be worth it for people to buy the iPhone. Side by side comparison between the iPhone (take away the mobile phone part) to the Nokia N800, the iPhone win hands down.

It’s possible the site is collecting emails for spam or selling off your info, but might be worth the risk.

  8. VPA021 says:

I have sent them my IMEI I will let you guys know if they real or fake ;)

    Yeah Thanks!!

By the way, for those of you who were asking, you could find the IMEI number in the phone itself in the settings option. I sure hope this unlocking thing is for real.

  11. Kyle says:

I really hope this is right. I still have about 1 year left with T-Mobile but really don’t want to leave them. If this proves to be true I will be at my Cingular, wait…. AT&T… whatever… anyway, store faster than you can say Cingular.. or AT&T.

  12. tony says:

no need to go find the box or look in the settings the emei is engraved on the back of your iphone!! duh

  13. CanadianUser says:

Do we have any feedback on this unlocking yet?

  14. Kyle says:

Well just because I can I typed in my e-mail address to see if they are a spam site and I haven’t got any e-mails yet so it may be true but anyone that has any luck with this please post!

  15. S.H.A. says:

I typed in my e-mail address too… nothing so far.

  16. arslan says:

I have sent my email so fare no email.

  17. Ralph says:

Anyone guys,I live in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and have purchased 3 pcs already,I am just waiting for the unlock to come out.
Frankly speaking,it can take couple of days upto to couple of years.

See for example, the 3g series and the N series of Nokia took about 2 yrs to unlock.

DAMN!!!!!Imagine if that was the case with the Iphone!!!!!!!

  18. stefan rus says:

is really simple to find out the IMEI number …. just press the “i” on the screen .This i is located next to “connect to iTunes” under battery sign.

  19. yusuf says:

i gave my imei no. as well. all i need to know is- could the iphone be unlocked(w/unlock code) without it being activated, cause i havent activated my new iphone.

  20. Atif Sattar says:

  22. Sacky says:

Anyone had their phone unlocked yet?

  23. Vincent Nguyen says:

still nothing yet, hmm – perhaps these guys aren’t legit? Lets call them out!

  24. Moe says:

even if the phone is unlocked I dont think you can use all the feautures in it, such as visual voice mail, this is a service done by AT&T and apple. and for the guy in Dubia, Apple always been the hardest company for hackers. I think it will be a while until this phone is unlocked. because to tell you the truth I think apple is making money of the monthly plan you pay to ATT, and if thats the case trust me they would have made it almost impossible to unlock

  25. iNorbert says:

Anyone who believes that the iPhone can be unlocked by a hacker is a DREAMER. Is anyone really so naive to believe that a company like Apple who is entering a ONE BILLON customer market and trying to get a one percent share by the end of next year is unable to protect its product from getting hacked?
This is not WALMART its APPLE and everything that stands behind this company.

  26. Vincent Nguyen says:

I think visual voicemail is the least of their concerns. I know it would be for me if I live a country where iphone isn’t available.

  27. Ben2998 says:

I really want the iPhone but it’s not avalailable in Canada and there’s no cellphone currently in communication with AT&T. I hope that it’s not Bell who’s gonna have the exclusivity of the phone, they sucks!

What about peoples like me, that want that iPod feature and are ready to wait for the legit phone feature when it’s gonna be avalailable? If someone could garantee me that the iPhone could work if I exchange the SIM card for another iPhone, I would take it!

  31. Derek says:

People have already found ways to activate iPhone’s features. Now they’re just working on the SIM part..hows that for iNorbert.

Some people just don’t need the phone part. It’s actually pretty convenient–the phone portion can always be turned on later.

  36. rduran says:

i gave mi number but nothing happened… it was last week.. so i guess… screwed? or is it a big pile of work that they have?

  37. freek says:

My iPhone is on it’s wat to the Netherlands, and I also bought the unlockcode (not SIM) and I really hope it works.

It will be just a matter of time before it can be SIM-unlocked for the use of it’s telephone functions. And as Steve Jobs said: ’till then I already have the best iPod ever made… :-)

  38. m says:

    it s fake !!

Also I am having problems activating it.
Anyone with any sort of info please e-mail me at attaski@hotmail.com

  41. Attaski says:

also I dont think giving out the imei number is any risk at all, if not it would’nt be on the box where anyone can see it.

  42. Nauman Shahid says:

I am really waiting patiently for it
