In an interesting move, the Canadian mobile phone provider Rogers Wireless has introduced a new unlimited music download plan. It's pretty simple, you pay $20 a month and you can download and listen to as much music as you want on both your phone, and pc as long as you carry the plan. This isn't really a new concept, so why is it a big deal?

Lets go back a few weeks to when Rogers landed the big deal with Apple. They became the exclusive carrier for the iPhone in Canada. Now it seems like a big deal. Rogers is launching a new service that will directly compete with Apple.

I'm not sure how Apple will feel about this. It is possible that they will restrict iPhone customers from signing up for this plan. But, if they do that, they run the risk of greatly upsetting iPhone customers. We'll definitely keep a watch on this story as it unfolds.
