Blimey! UK gadget tome T3 are sticking their necks on the line and predicting that the Apple iPhone 2 will be guest of honour at the Apple Special Event. According to their sources within Cupertino, they’re saying a 3G iPhone - ideal for the data-hungry Euro market – will be announced. Furthermore, the BBC have apparently told them that Apple will definitely be announcing availability dates for at least the UK version of the handset.
As is ever the case, for every one thing we think we know there are a dozen unanswered questions. No news on whether this 3G iPhone would replace the original handset in the US, or if the two would continue as concurrent models; or, indeed, if the 3G would even be available outside of Europe.
Analysts and Apple fans alike have cast doubt on the idea of an updated iPhone coming so soon after the originals launch, and instead have expected software updates bringing missed features such as MMS support and iChat instant messaging. If T3 are right and Steve Jobs surprises all with a significantly improved hardware model, the early-adopters in the US will likely be more than a little frustrated.

3G…. *drools*
Well, I guess that didn’t happen :)
However, it seems obvious that Apple has opened up room for at least one model at the top of the iPhone line. A 16GB model is an obvious choice, but it might also be the place to debut a 3G model in the US.
Seems highly improbable since if Jobs does plan on updating his device he wont just add 3G he would surely upgrade it to a completely higher level with a better camera and more hi-tech stuff…. just a small upgrade wont happen considering its been hardly even 6 months since its release.
