Rumor: Apple rolling out their own library of Web 2.0 web apps?

Its beginning to look like that might be the case. There is a website at www.apple.com/webapps but it doesn’t work right now.

There are also hints to the database within the recent downloads RSS feed where you can find some of the apps listed. There is Blackjack 21, Solitaire, and 101 Cookbooks all for the iPhone.

Maybe that SDK they sent out wasn’t just for personal use, but a guideline if you wanted to get your apps added to the database. Who knows, but I say anything Apple does that goes in the right direction of adding functionality, that’s a plus in my book.

Hey, it’s about 3 pm and that apple.com/webapps is working, and there is a link to it on the iphone page on the main apple site. It’s pretty cool. thought you guys would like to know :)
