heh, i am getting ready to buy an ipod touch, a 16GB one, but i figurer they give you like 30 days to return it, so i figure if they are releasing a larger capacity Touch any time before next year, it will be in the next 30 days, so there’s that

Damn, i just bought a 16 gb iPod touch, and it might be obsolete in a little while! That’s the problem of buying an iPod, you’re always tempted to but the newest thing.

Not likely, at least not before 2008. Steve Jobs and Apple already experienced a PR disaster with the lowering of iPhone prices so soon after the device was released, and gave the reason for the price drop as wanting to compete for holiday sales. Introducing a 16G iPhone now would almost insure price adjustments like you suggested, again changing the price of the 8G, and I just don’t think Apple will take that risk again so soon.

It’s fake. If you notice, the picture of the iphone box seemingly displays the updated homescreen, complete with the WiFi iTunes icon, yet you’ll notice that the “=” key in the calculator icon is still a dark gray. After firmware update 1.1.1, the “=” key on the calculator icon was changed to orange to correspond with the icon on the iPod Touch.
