Today I decided to download Break, which is a simple brick-breaking game. Think Breakout, only the blocks have little bears, dogs and other “cute” animals on them. You also get power-ups like a wider paddle and extra lives.

I like brick-breaking games, but I can't recommend Break from Jirbo. Sure, I'd like to dock points for the cute cuddly animals on the bricks, but thats only a tiny part of why I can't stand this game. First, it runs like crap. It seems like every other brick I hit makes the game stutter, which can be really annoying. Collision detection sucks on this game too. After I watched around the fifth ball go straight through my paddle I gave up. Oh, and cheating at this game is cake too. If you lift your finger off the screen, it pauses the game. You can then hit the Menu button and click "Reset Ball", which will put the ball right back at the starting position.

Sure, this game might be fun if you could look past those two issues, but frankly, they are enough to make me remove it from my iPhone (which I have already done). The game takes up 3.1MB of space and despite being free, it isn't worth the money you spend on it.
