If we continue the iPod analogy, there will be a plethora of accessories that will allow you to charge iPhone from a power brick or automobile. I’m sure disposable battery packs will also arrive much like the ones you can pick up for a few bucks from convenience stores that you plug directly into your phone or iPod. I kind of doubt that iTunes will allow it to continue normal services knowing it's not being used in conjunction with the AT&T agreement. After all, an iTunes account is *required* for setup.
