We've looked at ways to create music on your iPhone before, but what if you've already got an expensive ProTools-based rig and are instead looking to bring some MultiTouch love to controlling it?  Musician Alex Lelievre might have the answer for you; his ProRemote software turns the iPhone or iPod Touch into a wirelessly-connected controller that can be used to adjust levels, cue up or mute tracks and generally operate Pro Tools LE at a distance.

Alex is a sensible guy (and, if he's anything like the musicians I know, has an instrument shopping list far bigger than his bank balance) so he's hoping to sell ProRemote for ProTools early next year when Apple release the official SDK for the cellphone and PMP.  With an estimated price tag of $150 (which includes the software for the iPhone itself as well as the server software that provides the interface between it and ProTools), it may look expensive but it pales in comparison to the cost of existing touchscreen-based music controllers such as JazzMutant's worthy-but-pricey Lemur.

There'll be a beta of the programme released next week (currently Mac only) which has the majority of the functionality present and requires a Jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch.
