Politics hit the iPhone App Store

As the App Store becomes more and more solidified as a real way for people to sell products, we’ve seen many a mainstream company take up the iPhone SDK and develop interesting promotional items. But now, politicians have heeded the call and an influx of politically-savvy apps have invaded.

Now, you can download all sorts of apps intended to keep the American people “in the know” when it comes to where politicians stand on the issues and how you can be a part of their campaigns. The Obama campaign even released an app today that helps you “get the word out” about his views and prioritizes your contact list by states that are currently closest in the polls.

Regardless of where you stand politically, you should check out the App Store and search McCain or Obama. You’re bound to find a bunch of apps to keep you occupied on Decision 2008.

  1. Hi Brenda,

Thank you for posting about politics in the App Store.

Please include our application as well, Congress+ in your list. We cover not only Obama and McCain but the rest of the 533 folks who represent us in Congress. The application was rated 8/10 by AppCraver.com and currently has a four-star rating in the Apple App store.

    Best regards,

    Michael D. Cohen, Ph.D.
