PhoneSaber, the simple yet fun app that displays an image of a lightsaber and uses the accelerometer to help you have epic battles with sound effects, was pulled from the App Store not too long ago. However, it will be making a triumphant return to the App Store soon, with a new name and official backing.
To be called Lightsaber Unleashed, the app developed by TheMacBox will be retooled to fit in with the new game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. With new characters, better graphics, sound effects and more, this new version of the app sounds to be much improved.
Optional dueling music is also included. Lightsaber Unleashed is being rereleased with the guidance of THQ and Lucas Arts. When I first heard PhoneSaber was pulled, I immediately thought, “Great, now when it comes back ‘officially’ we’ll have to pay for it.” But not so. Lightsaber Unleashed will be free.

Let me rush right out and get the pretend cigarette lighter app while I’m at it. “Limited utility”, my flatulence generating, lighter averse, saber dodging donkey.

Seriously people. If I had an iPhone, I -swear- this would be the first app I search for.
I don’t care if its nerdy. Mscientist, I’ve never understood the point of posting about something you hate. Honestly, the appeal to the iPhone is as follows to me:
-My current phone sucks
-Touch screen
-Fun.
The main attraction, to me, is fun. Random apps like this are one of the main attractions, and the reason I’d pick an iPhone over a Blackberry or the LG VU.
Is it just me or did this publish strike a cord with other folks. Maintain writing this and I’ll be again.
