I love the fact that flexible OLEDs have a faster response time than LEDs, it just doesn't make sense to use LEDs anymore!

Looks like this will be a good move in the technology and phone field.

One of the biggest problems with ANY electronic device, in my opinion, is the fact that LCD screens are so fragile and can crack just like that.

However, with OLED, you could even substitute plastic with glass, hence making screen replacements faster, more efficient, and cheaper.

Combine that with the fact that our iPhones and iTouches are already cased with Aluminum, which is a lot more durable than plastic (in a cracking sense) and you have pretty much an indestructible phone (not counting the scratch variable)

Plus the fact that netbooks will be coming out with OLED, it will be quite a revolution in technology.

I'm still wondering when our transparent monitors are coming out though :D

In response to the person saying that Apple is copying Samsung, you are completely wrong.

If you were to say that, you would be calling each company a copier, as multi-touch was NOT Apple's original technology. Just because a company decided to use OLEDs before Apple does not mean that Apple has copied them.

If you wanted Apple to make an "original" idea, then what do you expect them to make?

.. firts poster: You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. OLED is a new screen technology that has been developed and will likely be used by most major computer/television companies in the the market in the near future. It isn't something that Samsung owns, nor is it something that will be "origional" to a brand once it hits mainstream devices. Apple is trying to keep their device current by utilizing new technologies, no by copying Samsung. Blue Ray players will soon be in all computers, are they all copying eachother?
