If you've been lamenting the absence of UK-based news reporting on your iPod (what, really?) then you'll be overjoyed to hear that ITN, who produce the factual bulletins for British channel ITV, have signed a deal with Apple that will see their mobile news and entertainment content available as free downloads via iTunes.  The footage will be funded by a video advert from Ad Infuse shown beforehand.

UK news broadcaster Trevor MacDonald will be available to download to your iPod

Content will include UK, world, showbiz, business and sport news, as well as ITN's Movie Buff and Sports Fix weekly sports bulletin, and be available to either view on your PC or Mac or to transfer onto an iPod.  Having recently started a YouTube channel, similarly advert funded, made up of dedicated entertainment and sports news specially created for the internet, it's likely that ITN will be pushing this content when the iPhone hits the UK in November.
