There's no doubt that phone manufacturers are worried about the upcoming iPhone. Motorola, is certainly no different. With lagging sales and a reported net loss of $181 million last quarter (down from a profit of $686 million this time last year) Apple threatens to cut into their declining market share.

In likely response to the iPhone, Motorola has announced that they will be unveiling a new high-end mobile phone that focuses greatly on multimedia capabilities. They even go as far as to call it a “media monster”
One thing to note is that they had high expectations of their design team. One of their goals for the phone was to make it “wickedly cool.” According to the announcement, that goal was met. Apple has not released a public statement confirming or denying that the iPhone is in fact “wickedly cool.” Frankly, that has me a little concerned. You would think that if it were “wickedly cool,” they would have said something by now.
