More details on custom iPhone applications





Scott Forstall, VP of the iPhone division of Apple was brought on stage to discuss in detail about creating applications for the iPhone.

First, all apps will run inside of Safari. They will be able to look and feel just like any other iPhone applications. He demoed a custom corporate address book database application. He said that it took a single developer less than a month and 600 lines of code to create, and it looks just like anything else on the iPhone.

You can direct-dial or email from a web-app. This shows us that the custom applications can easily interact with the other features and apps already built-in to the iPhone. Looks like that wraps it up for the keynote.
