Apple's multi-touch interface is going to be great, and supposedly fairly accurate for only using your fat fingers to navigate. But what about all of the people that will stick with their Windows-based phones? They may be getting improved screens as well.

Microsoft Shift

They won't be getting multi-touch any time soon, but they will be getting improved accuracy when you're using your fingers. Microsoft has developed a new technology called Shift that actually recreates the area you've clicked on and allows you to pinpoint the exact spot you're wanting to click. The technology will solve many of the issues that are caused when you use your finger rather than a stylus to click.

The Microsoft Shift does look rather interesting, I'll be curious to see how it stacks up against the iPhone's touch interface. No word yet on how long it will be before this technology will be implemented in future phones.
