This warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by use with non-Apple products; (b) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake or other external causes; (c) to damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Apple; (d) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (“AASP”); (e) to a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple; (f ) to consumable parts, such as batteries, unless damage has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (g) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports; or (h) if any Apple serial number has been removed or defaced.

I believe part (e) basically says that if this program jacks up your phone you are S.O.L.

Can anyone tell me what the sound quality is like? I know the speakers aren’t that great on the iphone, but does it sound decent?

As for potential warranty issues, Scott, I’m not entirely sure. It would come down to whether Apple might argue that any problem arising could be connected to the ringtone software – a poorly soldered button obviously wouldn’t, but they may say software instability was conected. The best thing to do is read the warranty closely and make the decision yourself.

I did have a small issue with how to sync; basically, put the iPhone in the cradle and let Windows notice it, before starting the iPhoneRingToneMaker program.

My iPhone continues to work normally, with no apparent ill effects or problems. I cannot say whether this voids Apple’s warranty since I haven’t read the warranty (grin!).
