Leaks won’t hurt iPhone HD sales, 24M iPhone HDs to ship this year, meet the man in charge of listening to drop call complaints for AT&T

So far, there have been two leaks of the iPhone HD, one of which has been suspect. According to some, the leaks will not hurt the sales of the device, and why should they. If anything, the leaks will get more folks to be aware of the device.

Foxconn is said to be making 24M next generation iPhones this year. That is a ton of devices and they are said to have new screens better for reading eBooks.

If you ever wondered who the AT&T person in charge of handling all the complaints from irate iPhone users is his name is John Stankey, AT&T operations chief. Talk about a Stankey job.

Shane, Apple is not worried that the leaks would negatively affect the sales of the next generation iPhone. They are worried the leaks will negatively affect the sales of the current generations being sold.

Who would want to buy a $99 3G when in the matter of a couple of weeks they could have the most up to date iPhone for $199? Or if history repeats, they could have the 3GS for the same $99.

As a rule, companies are not worried about leaks affecting future products but rather current products.

    Jason,
Apple work in this manner since 30 yrs. ago. Every 6 or new year you have a new product. And… What happens if Apple does not do that? Other company do
it better. This is classic cycle of innovation.
