JAJAH Mobile Web will allow iPhone or smartphone owners to make VoIP calls straight from the web browser to anywhere in the world with no download, installation, or contract. Users just type in mobile.jajah.com into their mobile browser and enter their JAJAH user name and password. Then the rest is just a click away from calling any one in your JAJAH address book. If the company’s claim hold true, the iPhone will be an even hotter product when it goes on sale in June.

However, JAJAH blog post a link to the JAJAH Mobile Plug-in saying that "We are going to bring JAJAH Mobile to the iPhone as soon as it becomes available." MacDailyNews raised the point that wouldn’t such plug-in require Apple’s blessing? As far as I’m concerned, Apple has not made any official statement yet.
Here’s what JAJAH Blog has to say about this:
We are announcing today that we are going to support the iPhone as soon as it becomes available in June 2007.
Like the rest of the known planet, we just watched Steve Job's introduction of the Apple iPhone. The JAJAH office is buzzing with excitement. It might be one of the most beautiful products ever created. And if you are in the business of bringing mobile VoIP to everyday people like we are, this is exciting news.
It's not every day that someone changes the landscape of an industry with a single product announcement, but Apple has become known for it. The iPhone promises to change the way we think of mobile computing and communication the same way the iPod changed the way we think about music.
We are going to bring JAJAH Mobile to the iPhone as soon as it becomes available. iPhone users will be able to make free or very low cost global JAJAH calls with a single click, without a special download, other equipment, wi-fi or broadband access. You'll just need to be a registered JAJAH user - and registration is free.
If you're a JAJAH fan, you already know we have an Mac Address Book Plugin and JAJAH user, Greg Smithies has recently pulled together a Mac OS X JAJAH Widget. The iPhone solution will further extend our commitment to the Mac community.
Many of us at JAJAH are long-time Mac fans and we couldn't be happier that Apple is bringing their design and innovations to the world of telephony.
Thanks Apple, and welcome to the world of Voice 2.0.

hey can u reply and say how much this i phone is please
Here you go:
Below are the most current release dates for different parts of the world.
Disclaimer: Information are all speculative and may change without your (our) knowledge. Please feel free to add to the discussion should you find, read or hear something not already posted.
Apple iPhone release date for United States: June 2007
Apple iPhone release date for Canada: Q4 2007 / Q1 2008
Apple iPhone release date for Europe: Q4 2007
Apple iPhone release date for Australia: TBD
Apple iPhone release date for Asia: Q1 2008
Apple iPhone release date for South Africa: TBD
The Apple iPhone is priced at:
$499 for the 4GB model – with a 2-year contract
$599 for the 8GB model – with a 2-year contract
NOTE: Cingular / AT&T is very clear that if you live in an area where they don’t currently service directly, you will not be able to purchase an iPhone. That being said.
Also, Apple is very clear that carriers are NOT ALLOWED to subsidize the price of the phone in any way, shape or form. The $499 / $599 is the actual cost of the iPhone.
This is non-news. JahJah works with any browser and just let’s you enter 2 phone numbers:
One of yourself and one number of the person you want to call.
Their server then calls both numbers and connects them while billing you through the JahJah system.
This is NO VOIP call, you will be called through a regular SIM card subscription on your mobile.
This works with ANY mobile or land line and ANY browser.
Yep just pr crap trying to leverage off the iphone buzz, now if someone said that Mexuar Corraleta calls worked from the iphone using the browsers java capabilities to access the voip path that would be cool.
Cheers,
Dean
Why would you use mobile.jajah.com? The whole kickass thing about the iPhone is that it has a real browser, not a shitty mobile one.
Why would Apple make this official. Dosen’t seem that their partner Cingular/AT&T would be too happy about the ability to utilize the phone with out using their voice service. Also woudn’t Cisco be pissed that Apple went with another VOIP provider given the recent negotiations….
Well there is some confusion here. JAJAH, once initiated on-line (as on the iPhone), then calls (1) your phone [most plans have incoming calls free] and then (2) the target phone. Hence there are no charges on your cell phone.
This is bull***p, if I’m called by anyone my conversation side minutes are counted and deducted from my celular account. So, it is NOT free, not even close. unless I have a super-duper-ultra-magnunormous expensive account with gazillion minutes every month.
@ Martin
“This is NO VOIP call, you will be called through a regular SIM card subscription on your mobile.”
The call termination is not VoIP, but you can call another country and treat it as a LOCAL call. The connection between the two end points is handled by Jajah…that connection is over IP.
I think that Jajah has better to support thier software on other mobiles first. Their website doesn’t even work properly on Windows Mobile 3G internet. And their application isn’t compatible either.
What makes them think that it will be easier for them to support the iPhone than other mobiles?

More hyped iPhone non-news.
I’m not sure what Allan was thinking of. I recently bought a new phone, and checked out all the major U.S. carrier plans. All charge both incoming and outgoing calls against your minutes. So Jajah is of no value to mobile users except for some int’l calls (I have used it for this on my Treo occasionally).
The real news would be if Apple and Cingular decided to allow real free voip (i.e., Skype) over wifi, but that would be very much out of character.
OUTSTANDING
One more reason to spend that money on sleek iPhone.
I am waiting.
Jajah IS NOT VOIP !
jesus christ, when are u guys going to understand that this news is no news ?
the are just saying that u will be able to use their web site on your iPhone, BIG DEAL !
P.S i’m another martin :D
What about the interst of using the iphone in wifi hotspots with att mode off, and making jahjah calls for virtually free
?
